Opening An Account

Two types of user accounts are currently allowed within the NATE web platform. These are namely:

The Guest Account is open to all users but targetted especially to prospective members of the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering. It allows the bearer ability to comment on different posts on the platform including images, events, news, and blogs. Additionally, the user can also receive alerts by email or SMS of important events relating to NATE.

To create a member account, simply click on any link marked Register and supply required fields which includes first and last names, a valid email address, a password, a confirmation of the password, and a photo.

Email address must be the same one which you used in registering with NATE (if a member) or which you intend to register with NATE (if a prospective member). Email addresses are not editable after registration.

Our password policy dictates that passwords must be at least eight (8) characters.

Take note that we prefer landscape photos on this platform and images are clipped so ensure that your photo is in teh range of 850px wide and 400px high.

After successfully registering, a confirmation email would be sent to your given email address. It would contain a link which would automatically confirm your registration when you click on it.

Upon successful confirmation, user can now start enjoying privileges on the website.

The Member Account is strictly reserved for persons who are financial members of the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering. Its features include ability to check current financial status, access to the official NATE magazine, The Technologist, etc.

Member accounts are upgraded from guest accounts upon request. If at a future date, the user of a Guest account registers with NATE and wishes to upgrade user type, this can be as easy as ticking a button on the user's profile page.

To request for a member account, visit your About Page and click on Request Upgrade at the right hand corner of the screen (or bottom of the screen for mobile users).

To create a member account, simply click on any link marked Register.

A form would be presented where you would be requested to supply required fields such as valid NATE number, year of membership, valid phone number, state of membership registration, profession, birth day and month, age range, gender, and a brief introduction.

After registration, the branch chairman of the state your supplied as your state of registration would confirm your request by validating your NATE number and year of membership.

Upon successful upgrade, a notification email would be sent to you.

Logging In

To log into your account, you require your registered email address and password.

If you had not earlier confirmed your registration, you would be directed to a page and prompted to do so else you would be successfully logged in and redirected to page you were before commencing log in.

Recovering Password

Passwords are stored as irreversible hash values in our database and forgotten passwords can no longer be recovered however we can help you create a new password.

Firstly, you would click on the link marked Forgotten Password? which would direct you to a page where you would be prompted to enter your registered email address.

A reset confirmation link would then be sent to that email address if it is confirmed to exist in our database. Simply click on that link and then continue to enter a new password which would be used henceforth to log into your account.

Updating Account

To update your basic details such as names and photo, click on Update Basic Details on your About Page. Email addresses are not editable.

You can also update membership details such as valid phone number, state of membership registration, profession, birth day and month, age range, gender, and brief introduction.

NATE number and membership year can only edited if you have not been upgraded to member account.

To update membership details click on Update Membership Details on your About Page. Email addresses are not editable.

Changing Password

Passwords holds teh key to your details and we advise that you regularly change your passwords on you platforms.

To change your password, click on Change Password on your About Page. Email addresses are not editable.

A form would be presented where you would be prompted to enter your old password, a new password, and a confirmation of the new password.

Our password policy dictates that passwords must be at least eight (8) characters.

Upon submission, the change would be immediately updated and you can start using your new password.
